There is just something about a Downtown Charleston engagement session that never gets old—the cobblestone streets, soft pastel homes, and that quiet, romantic glow that makes everything feel a little more magical. And Emily and Parker fit into it all so effortlessly.
Emily wore a stunning white dress with delicate pearl details that felt perfectly at home in the historic streets. The length, the structure, the elegance—it was one of those looks that instantly elevates everything around it. Paired with Parker, who complemented her so naturally, the two of them looked like they had stepped straight out of a classic Charleston love story.
Their story actually started in a way that feels just as fun as their session. Emily met Parker during a family weekend visit to see her brother—who happened to be in the same fraternity as Parker. After being told she had to find her own partner for a game of beer pong, Emily walked right up to Parker and asked him to join her team… and the two of them “ran the table” that night.
From there, it was Snapchat messages, long-distance conversations, and eventually a first date that didn’t quite go as planned—in the best way. After being turned away from a rated R movie (thanks to a forgotten ID), they ended up at an Aladdin musical instead. And honestly, that feels like the perfect beginning to a relationship that’s equal parts fun, unexpected, and meant to be.
Seven years later, here they are—walking through Charleston together, completely in sync.
Downtown sessions like this are perfect for couples who want something timeless, elegant, and undeniably romantic. And Emily and Parker brought all of that and more.

After exploring the historic streets of Downtown Charleston, we continued Emily and Parker’s engagement session with two completely different settings that fit their vision perfectly. From the soft greenery and Southern charm of Hampton Park to the relaxed coastal feel of Isle of Palms, each location brought out a different side of their relationship and style. Charleston is one of my favorite places for engagement sessions because you can experience so much variety in a single day, and this session was the perfect example of that.
