What a beautiful summer evening at Gervasi Vineyard for Julie and Jeff’s engagement photos! I knew we would have a great time together the moment we met because it instantly felt like I just made some new best friends! Their adorable pup Zona joined in on the fun and was such a good sport. I absolutely love it when our couples bring their furry friends along! And let me not forget to say – a romantic picnic and a glass of wine is always a good idea. Julie and Jeff are just the sweetest. Their chemistry is undeniable. And now to the best part – Julie and Jeff’s love story – which is best shared by Julie herself:

How They Met

We actually met in 8th grade math class. We were friends throughout high school, and became best friends during college while going to Akron and working at Swensons together. We would always do “date-like” activities together (I.e. go out to eat, go to a ball game) but just as friends. One day Jeff called and asked if I wanted to go to a Rubber Ducks game. I said sure, thinking nothing of it. Jeff said, “yeah, but as my date”. We went to the game and the rest is history. 🙂

The Proposal

We spent a weekend in Pittsburgh with our dog, Zona and were attending a Chainsmokers concert. On our way to the air bnb, Jeff pulled into the parking lot of a park we had went to before we started dating to play tennis on the clay courts. Jeff said he wanted to take Zona for a walk to burn off some energy before we went to the concert so I didn’t think anything of it. After a full lap around the park, we walked down one of the trailheads and were surrounded by woods and the beautiful sounds of nature. Jeff got down on one knee and honestly we both blacked out at that point! I ended up getting down on my knees with him: he was crying, I knocked the ring out of his hand, Zona wrapped herself around a pole…it was perfect. We both say it was the best day of our lives.
