A Timeless and Classic Summer Wedding

Haley and Eric’s wedding day was one I’ve been waiting for since the moment we met and that unforgettable evening at Huntington Beach capturing their engagement photos. Their wedding day was one I’ll never forget – it was truly my honor to capture all the special moments that unveiled right in front of my lens. And what a beautiful wedding it was. Haley’s vision for the day was to create a timeless and classic feel with romantic vibes. Incorporating lots of candles, greenery and roses while balancing them out with gold accents made her vision come to life. Being on the lake, Haley and Eric wanted a relaxing environment that brings vacation-like feeling to their guests, and it was just that! The Cleveland Yacht Club is the perfect venue for a laid back yet elegant wedding and no better place to capture beautiful wedding photos in Cleveland. Haley added a few special touches by providing a champagne truck before the ceremony, acoustic music for ceremony and first dances, and a polaroid photo book and donuts for reception. Wanting to be involved in all aspects of her wedding, she designed her own wedding invitations, as well as programs, vow books, signs, name cards, table decor, and more. Along with her amazing friends, Haley’s incredible mom did all of the table florals (which looked absolutely stunning!). The whole wedding truly was a team effort and was everything a girl could ever dream of.

Favorite parts of Haley’s wedding day:

“I have so many favorite parts, but one of my most favorite parts was the first look with my dad. I could tell it meant so much to him and was a moment that I will never forget – I am so grateful we have it on video/photo and that my mom and sister-in-law were there for it too. Doing a first look/ private vow exchange with Eric was also another one of my favorite parts. It is easy to get lost in the chaos and excitement of the day and it was so nice to have time scheduled to be alone with my (almost) husband and focus on the most important part of the day – our love and commitment to each other. This is when it really “felt real” to me and set in that we were getting married and nothing else mattered (not even the weather). We also took time just the two of us between cocktail hour and intros to sit and eat some appetizers and relax before rejoining the party which was a good way to make sure we got to eat and recharge for a minute. The sunset pictures were also so fun and I love how beautiful they turned out!”

Haley’s advise to future brides:

“My advice is to take your time planning (we had close to a 1.5-year engagement) which allowed me to enjoy the process and avoid stress. I was also able to pick from a wide selection of vendors since our date was so far out. I also would tell future brides to be present in the day and take a few moments throughout the day to soak it all in because it goes so quickly. When I was at the altar I made a point of looking out at everyone because it is so rare to have all of your loved ones in one place for YOU! I also think having the timeline planned out ahead of time with buffers especially in the morning helped mitigate a lot of anxiety and stress. I also suggest gathering up all of your “detail” items that you want to be photographed so that they are all in once place and ready to go for Juliana. I had a day of a wedding coordinator who was amazing and took a lot of pressure off my parents and my shoulders so that everyone could enjoy the day. Don’t sweat the small things – the day will be perfect – rain or shine!”
