If you have followed along Ava’s first year of life you know it’s been nothing short of amazing. You might also know just how many photos I’ve taken (umm thousands!!) so to celebrate her birthday, I planned to take her first birthday photos in the studio. Any momma out there wants to give her baby only the best, and I’m no different here – Ava girly deserves the world!
Having a February birthday I knew I needed to rent a studio because outdoor photos in Cleveland this time of year is a no-no for any baby. I chose Lake Arts Studio, Cleveland’s newest natural light studio. I absolutely love this bright space. The wainscot wall adds class and elegance and the light bouncing off every surface is a game changer. As a bonus, this Cleveland studio offers a full working kitchen! Anyone looking for a cake smash session – this is THE place!
As you might already know, sessions with toddlers never go as planned. It’s always best to stay flexible and let the session unfold, letting baby lead the session while taking it slow, allowing time to capture their personalities and genuine reactions. Our time at the studio was nothing but full of surprises. After taking just a few photos with the balloon, it popped – confetti flying EVERYWHERE!! Ava was on cloud nine!! She had so much fun playing with the confetti – which resulted with lots of smiles, laughter and fun interactions. We also brought her favorite toys – Burt, Jose and Bo (that’s right, all of Ava’s toys have been named!). The wooden stroller she plays with daily also made an appearance – she enjoyed pushing it around the open studio. My goal was to capture her bubbly personality and what better way than to let her play with her favorite toys? Finally, towards the end, I hopped in to get some intimate shots with my sweetie (heart melting a little). I sure hope you enjoy these photos <3

I’m ready to place a print order to display some of these around our home. Just as Ava’s newborn photos, these will hold a special place in my heart. She has been my biggest blessing, my miracle and my forever sweetie. I’m so blessed to be called her mama. I treasure every moment we spend together and not going to lie melt a little every time she gives me a hug (and sometimes kisses, when I’m lucky). I love seeing my sweet Ava grow and just can’t wait to see the things God has in store for her life.
