It was the perfect summer evening at Huntington Beach for Jocelyn and Jordan’s engagement session. The couple came here from Chicago so we had to make it count! I loved the laid back feel, a calm atmosphere, and the best light this evening!
We first met at work. I (Jocelyn) joined the same team as Jordan and instantly had a crush on him. Nothing followed the next couple of weeks except for a friendship. Finally I got the nerve up to ask Jordan out on a date after we had met up over the weekend in Chicago with some other colleagues. For our first date we went to a restaurant called Bub City. There was nothing special about the place except it was in-between where we both lived. I lived in the suburbs at the time and Jordan lived downtown. Nonetheless, we shared nachos and drank beer and next thing we knew 3 hours had passed by. After that I had to ask Jordan out on the second date as well but it all worked out in the end and here we are 3.5 years later!
Jordan had been eagerly awaiting the proposal shortly after he picked up the ring. He was thinking of all different ways to pop the question, but ultimately wanted it to be in a place that was special for the both of us, where we’ve shared some of our best memories – the home we share together. Jordan waited for me to leave one weekend morning and ran out to get flowers and wrote a handwritten card. When I got home I was surprised to say the least as I was certainly not expecting him to propose on a Sunday after getting brunch with a friend. It was truly so special for him to come out, get down on one knee and propose. We spent the rest of the day smiling and laughing together, enjoying each other company.
Jocelyn and Jordan, I absolutely loved getting to spend time with you and just can’t wait for your wedding!
